So many poems this year…

For my whole life there’s been this narrative thrown my way that I should be fitting in more, be more accepting of bending and conforming, something I’m not particularly good at frankly. Way back in the 80s there was an adaptation of A Very British Coup on Channel 4, in it the socialist Prime Minister Harry Perkins says, “I tried middle of road once, got knocked down from both directions.” At 17 that seemed apposite, it still does.
